AR Rahman's 'Infinite Love' enters UN's 'World's Happiest Playlist'

MUMBAI: Oscar and Grammy award winning musician and composer, AR Rahman's solo single 'Infinite Love', which was released in 2012, was recently chosen to be in the world's happiest playlist Celebrating International Day of Happiness, the United Nations recently released the 'World's Happiest Playlist' along with Mix Radio, in conjunction with a host of globally renowned artists.

The Master of melody, A R Rahman chose his single 'Infinite Love' as part of his #HappySoundsLike playlist. The track is a part of his first solo album that was launched after 15 years, since his 1997 release 'Vande Mataram', which is still the largest selling non-film album in India.

'Infinite Love' was released in December 2012, and commemorated the last day of the Mayan calendar, spreading hope, peace and love.

The song was also released in Hindi, titled 'Behad Pyaar'. Rahman, Indian rapper Blaaze along with Gil Levy wrote the lyrics for the English version, while lyricist Irshad Kamil worked on the Hindi lyrics.

Other artists who contributed to the playlist with their picks included Ed Sheeran who chose 'Independent Women' by Destiny's Child, while Britney Spears opted for 'Kiss' by Prince, and James Blunt picked Fun.'s 'We Are Young'. Surprisingly, however, Pharrell Williams, who made 'Happy', one of the biggest singles last year, overlooked his own viral hit and picked Talking Heads' 'This Must Be the Place' for his #HappySoundsLike playlist.
