MUMBAI: For Anu Mallik, the year 2015 began on a high note with the success of his music in ‘Dum Laga Ki Haisa.’ And now the singer - composer has composed a couple of tracks ‘Time Lagaye Kaiko’ and ‘20-20’ for the film ‘Welcome Back.’

“Firoz and I have known each other for a long time. He wanted me to compose a couple of songs for the movie and I could not say no. Both the songs are getting a great response and as a team, we are very happy with it,” said Malik.

It was Malik who persisted that his daughter Anmol Malik and John Abraham, sing the song ‘Time Lagaye Kaiko.’ “John Abraham is a very hard working actor and his rugged voice would suit the song, whilst Anmol has a very distinctive voice and her diction is also perfect, but being my daughter she had to go through a lot of grilling,” he further added.

Mallik also admitted that his daughter is his lucky charm as according to him, whichever song she sings turns to be a hit number. Malik is very happy that Anmol added her own elements and contributed to the success of the song.

The second song ‘20-20’ is a naughty number, which has been crooned by Mamta Sharma, Anu Malik and Shadaab. “Mamta has a very folkish voice, which is exactly what this song needed. People also associate with the word 20-20, which is why it is getting a good response,” he elucidated.

While Sharma is renowned for peppy numbers, Malik asked her to be herself and do what she is good at.

Being a veteran music composers in the industry and the father of Anmol Malik, the only advice he gives her is that, she will be scrutinised at every step being the daughter of Anu Malik. The only thing that will take her ahead in Bollywood is good work.
