Amit Raj composes for new Marathi films 'Bandh Nylonche' and 'Dagdi Chawl'

MUMBAI: Fresh off composing for 2015's first Marathi musical hit 'Classmates', music composer Amit Raj is all set to compose for Mahesh Manjrekar's next film, 'Bandh Nylonche'. The film chronicles the loss of human connection due to man's dependence on technology.

In addition the background score, Amit Raj has also composed all three songs in the film. Speaking on the composition of the film, Amit Raj said, “The film has a completely different subject. Because of the surge in technological communication, man has forgotten to project his emotions and sentiments and feelings in person. The film projects all of this; it is such a good concept.”

Of the three tracks composed so far, Amit Raj is most excited about one track in particular called 'Iktara Iktara' featuring lyrics by Mandar Cholkar. He is currently in the midst of finalising vocalists for the recording of the tracks. The film begins production mid-January next year.

Amit Raj is currently wrapping the recording for the upcoming Marathi film, 'Dagdi Chawl', the slum neighbourhood in South Mumbai now known as the fortified home of mafia don turned politician Arun Gawli. Amit Raj has composed one Ganapati related track along with a romantic love song for the film. The film is currently in production.

Amit Raj also working on his debut album, which will include songs composed by him, featuring vocals by some of the most known Marathi vocalists and himself. Radioandmusic.com previously reported his composition for the new Marathi film, 'Candle March' and 'Classmates'.
