Aishwarya Majmudar: 90s was an era of unbeatable music

MUMBAI: Singer Aishwarya Majmudar has recently released a medley of three of her favourite songs namely ‘Do Dil’, 'Pehli Nazar Mein’ and ‘Main Rang Sharbaton Ka’. The male vocals for the track have been sung by Sonu Singh. The songs were released under the Tips Music label.

The video for the single, which features Singh and Majmudar, was conceptualised by both of them. “Tips Music had approached me for recreating the tracks and I was quite excited to do the project. All the three songs are my favourite and I have grown up hearing these songs,” said Majmudar.

According to her, the 90s era had some beautiful music. “There was so much of essence in the music that one would go on listening to it. There were a few songs that have remained evergreen,” she added.

While finding it tough to name her favourite music composer from that era, she finally zeroed down on AR Rahman and Jatin Lalit. “They knew the capacity of each and every singer and both of them actually have the knack of getting the musical sensibilities of the singer on the mic,” she elucidated.

Apart from that, she is also a fan of the way they arranged their songs. For her, Rahman would be one music composer who would top everyone’s list and not just hers.

The singer is also working on her independent project and will be releasing the same very soon. Majmudar will be flying to US, for ‘Masti Ki Paathshala’, a five-city tour which will include New Jersey, New York and Chicago. The event is organised by TV Asia, USA and is all excited for her trip.
