Miami Music Week 2022: AMEME, Black Coffee, David Guetta, Dom Dolla, FISHER, Ida Engberg, Jauz, Loco Dice, Vintage Culture, Yung Bae

MUMBAI: AMÉMÉ is Benin, West Africa born, Berlin influenced and currently Brooklyn based. He draws upon all three localities' cultural influences to inspire his unique blend of afro-leaning deep dance music. He’s an exciting new artist in the Jamie Jones camp and actively supported by Black Coffee. Specialising in Afro-leaning electronic music, with flourishes of tribal percussion and spiritual vocals built upon a foundation of contemporary deep house and tech, AMEME’s DJ sets are eclectic, energetic and nourishing for the soul. In the studio he is equally dynamic and adept, seeing releases via his One Tribe label finding their way to Black Coffee, who supported the music in Tulum back in 2019. With such an influential figure backing his productions, it was inevitable that AMEME’s name would soon be ringing in the ears of other key tastemakers. Over the past few years he’s seen his music signed to Watergate Records, Blond:Ish’s Abracadabra imprint and the mighty MoBlack Records all bringing the West African wonder on board.

Alongside being a driving female force in the techno scene, Ida Engberg is also passionate about being a mother, a proud vegan, spirituality, art and wellness. She began promoting her painting artworks last year. She is married to techno icon, and Drumcode don Adam Beyer to whom they have three children. Ida began her career when she was 18. After filling in for another DJ, she got a regular night at a club. Later she went to work at the Spy Bar, one of the most famous clubs in Stockholm. This was her big break. From that time she has worked with Roger Sanchez, John Dahlbäck, Sebastian Ingrosso and Eric Prydz.

In 1998, after several singles, and residencies in the top European hip hop clubs, Loco Dice discovered the world of electronic music and ventured onto a new path from scratch. One of the key figures from that time was Timo Maas with whom Loco Dice got his 1 st taste of touring around the world and the other one was Martin Buttrich, who opened up the world of electronic music production. His first release in the electronic realm was “Phat Dope shit” in 2002. What followed were releases on the top labels in the industry as well as remixes for the likes of Mousse T, Kevin Saunderson, Basement Jaxx, Black Coffee, Terre Thaemlitz, Nightmares On Wax, Moby, and Disclosure to name a few. Loco Dice merges perspectives in his delicate sense for sounds and reflective atmospheres, underpinned with solid, physical grooves. You can call it techno if you want, or house, but don’t try to reduce it any further – Dice is most interested in the uncharted territory between genres, the elements that link everything together. Dice’s own productions are meticulously planned, with a directorial, cinematic outlook, which permeates Dice’s everyday life, and not just from the escapades and scrapes that he has sometimes found himself living out in real life.

Vintage Culture is currently one of the world’s most sought-after artists. The multi-platinum hitmaker, Lukas Ruiz, has made himself comfortable at the top of charts and festival lineups the world over. He is widely regarded as one of the most influential Brazilian dance music acts, gracing the cover of Rolling Stone Brazil and was nominated as one of the most influential ’30 under 30’ people in Forbes. Establishing himself as one of the biggest stars of the global electronic music scene, Black Coffee’s diverse production style has gained him recognition across the world. He has now been nominated for best Dance/ Electronic album for ‘Subconsciously’ at this year’s Grammy Awards.

Musical trailblazer David Guetta is an international icon. Receiving his 10th GRAMMY nomination in 2021 for ‘Hero’, his collaboration with Afrojack, Guetta was also nominated for 3 Brit Awards, voted the world’s best DJ in the coveted DJ Mag ‘Top 100’ poll and the best electronic artist at the MTV Europe Music Awards, both for the second year running, capping off another incredible year for the dance music visionary. He is up for a further three nominations at the 2022 iHeartRadio Music Awards, for Dance Act of the Year and Dance Song of the Year for his global smash hits ‘Heartbreak Anthem’ and ‘Bed’.

A master creative across genres, Guetta has gone from strength to strength with his underground-focused Future Rave project alongside Morten, releasing the atmospheric ‘Permanence’ as his first single of 2022. Additionally he returned to his uncompromising Jack Back alias for ‘Supercycle’ with Citizen Kain and Kiko. Celebrating 10 years of his massive ‘Titanium’ collaboration with Sia, Guetta released new remixes, including a mind-blowing Future Rave version.

With over 14 billion global streams, 50 million records sold worldwide and two Grammy awards to his name, David Guetta demonstrates time and time again why he is the most cherished electronic artist of our generation.

Known for his outrageous personality and his iconic hit single “Losing It,” GRAMMY-nominated Australian producer FISHER never stops having fun in whatever he does. He has an upcoming residency with Marquee Vegas this spring, beginning March 10th. Never one to stay in one place for too long, FISHER will be hosting his own party at E11VEN over Miami Music Week, making a stop at Ultra for a set on the Ultra Main Stage, and later playing his first headline residency at famed club Hï Ibiza this summer. FISHER launched the year with his club banger “Palm Beach Banga,” released on his recently-launched label, C.A.R.R (Catch and Release Records).

With the return of shows last year Jauz hit the road with Off The Deep End tour before end of the year and had major festival appearances last Summer at Lollapalooza Chicago, Hard Summer, Escapade Music Festival and Goldrush. He’s also been turning passion into pleasure with interesting collaborations such as a performance at League of Legends LCS in New York. Most recently he was tapped by TV Giant CBS to remix “See You In September” by the Happenings for a 30 second spot to promote this Fall’s line up of Comedys, Dramas, and the new NFL Season.

The LA based producer has dominated the electronic music space for years with a #1 album “The Wise & The Wicked” that reached top of the charts on iTunes dance within 90 minutes of release, it included hit singles ‘Feel The Volume’ (over 30 million streams) and ‘Rock The Party’ (over 25 million streams) and has headlined festivals across the globe including Ultra Music Festival, Life Is Beautiful Las Vegas, EDC Japan, Tomorrowland and many more.
