Check interview below.

Can you tell us about your recent song Chalte Jaana Hai?

Chalte Jaana Hai is a song written, composed and sung by me. It has a fresh indie vibe to it and would best fall in the genre of Singer-Songwriter/Indie.

How has your experience been working for the song?

Chalte Jaana Hai, like most songs I write, was written in about an hour, both lyrics and melody. My song writing process is all about letting thoughts and melodies flow and not tampering too much with the rawness of the song. The recording process was extremely smooth as I happened to work with one of the best music producers in the industry, Tallz, who really added so much life to a song that I had written just on my guitar.

What message does it convey?

Chalte Jaana Hai talks about the emotions revolving around the rejections that musicians face early in their career. It aims to motivate these musicians to never give up on the journey to chase their dreams, no matter what obstacles are thrown at them along the way. The honest lyrics, inspired by my own musical journey, along with the catchy melody, are deeply relatable to people who have faced similar struggles.

Any special memories associated with the song?

The entire process of recording the music video for the song in Jaipur was so memorable! Ashwat Mathur and his hard working team took every effort to make sure we achieved the result we wanted. A fun fact about the shoot: We assembled at 7 am at Nahargarh fort on a mountain in Jaipur one morning, only to realize that the crew had forgotten the memory card for the camera. The beauty of the situation was that even though, in my head, the shoot would have had to pack up for the day, the crew managed to find someone so early in the day, who lived in the city, and they actually went on a bike, down a shorter rough road on the mountain, and came back with a memory card 45 minutes later to complete the shoot! Incredible!

Another fun fact: It was only after the entire song was recorded in the studio that I realized that Tallz, the music producer for the song, was my next-door neighbour!

Can you give a gist of your upcoming projects?

Next, I'm releasing a bridal walk song, "Teri Ore Aa Jaati Hoon Main" on 5th November, just in time for the wedding season. It is a song that a bride would imaginarily sing for her groom while walking towards him while he waits for her in the mandhap. The lyrics beautifully capture the joy, nervousness and newness of a relationship.

Post that, I will be releasing a classic breakup song, "Teri Yaadein Reh Gayi" that is hugely inspired by R&B styles and instrumentations to give it a very international touch.

Finally, in early 2022, I'll be releasing a song that is very close to my heart. This song, "Kahaan Se Aayi Tum" is a song that I wrote for my wife, and that I gifted to her on our first anniversary as a surprise.
