LA-based MATT SIMONS releases a "Disco Mix" of 'Better Tomorrow'

MUMBAI: L.A based artist Matt Simons releases a stunning new version of ‘Better Tomorrow’ a song that’s on its way to becoming a bona fide European radio hit. The new version has extra production from celebrated International producer / remixer Purple Disco Machine who has added a funky disco twist to the original song - currently climbing the airplay charts in Germany, Italy, France, The Netherlands and beyond.

For the record - Purple Disco Machine has become synonymous with beefed-up bouncing basslines, scintillating synth pads and dense disco drums. He's produced mixes for the likes of Dua Lipa, Calvin Harris, Lady Gaga, Mark Ronson, Diplo, Fat Boy Slim, Gorillaz to name a few.

Addressing the anxiety that he experienced when he was younger, Better Tomorrow perfectly encapsulates the anxious mood we all live in right now in 2020, whilst offering reassurance that these panic attacks are only temporary.

Says Matt: “Around the age of 18, I had my first panic attack and went to the emergency room because I thought I was going to die. It’s an extremely lonely and helpless feeling when our brains turn on us and create the feeling of imminent danger when there really isn’t any there. I hope the song Better Tomorrow song can bring some comfort to those who also struggle with anxiety and mental health, especially during these unprecedented times”.

A story of humble beginnings, Simons grew up in Palo Alto, California as the grandson of two opera singers. He spent much of his early life studying jazz and classical music, playing the piano before switching to clarinet & guitar before crafting his own, melodic pop identity. It wasn’t long before he took steps to self-promote his releases online. To his surprise, his appealing pop sensibilities picked up an audience in The Netherlands, where his career started to really take off. A sync on a Dutch TV show and a string of tour dates, meant he had the perfect foundation to build a career overseas. Deepend’s remix of “Catch & Release” bubbled up organically and ended up to as one off 2016’s biggest hits, reaching Gold and Platinum status in a dozen territories and the top of the European Airplay chart. 2018’s ‘We Can Do Better’ and Open Up (2019) following close behind, with success spreading even further.

The release of Better Tomorrow is a tentpole moment for Matt in 2020, with more material stated to be released in the future, culminating in an EP sometime in 2021.
