MUMBAI: From a silver coat by Area to a sequin bodysuit by Valentino, Lady Gaga stunned in nine different looks.

Lady Gaga always wears the unexpected at the Video Music Awards red carpet, and her appearance was no different.

The singer stepped out in black dress under a silver jacket by Area, which was accessorized with black platform boots by Pleasers and, most noticeably, a clear helmet by Muscarella.

The singer was up for a whopping nine trophies—seven for "Rain on Me," her collaboration with Ariana Grande; Artist of the Year; and Best Quarantine Performance for "Smile" from One World: Together at Home. For every acceptance speech and for her three-song performance (one of which was with Grande), she wore completely different looks (how does she do it, really?). Still, all of her outfits stuck to a futuristic theme and featured eye-catching face coverings, encouraging audiences to practice safety at all times. "Celebrate yourself, be kind, mask up," she said while performing her medley.
