MUMBAI: Goa based singer songwriter Neil Dcruz today releases his brand new single and music video ‘Thank You Mama’ on his YouTube channel just in time for the monsoons. Written and produced by the singer, Neil continues to deliver a heartfelt message with his second single and dedicates the song to all mothers who are with us and who have left this world.

Lyrically and emotionally ‘Thank You Mama’ takes the listener on a journey of a Mother’s unconditional love and sacrifices in her child’s life. Neil flexes his storytelling and lyrical flow on each verse as the video showcases the tug of love of a mother and her children growing up. To make the song even sweeter, it was accompanied by soulful piano sounds and intense nylon acoustic guitar lines that felt like a classically-influenced composition.

The song was penned eight days after Neil’s mother passed away in the presence of his sister, the artist explains, “A mother’s love symbolizes a lifetime of moments and they make us who we are. My mother taught me the first to everything. Since her passing a year ago, my memories of her have always been very present and alive in my mind. This song is very special to me as it reminds me of all my best days with her. She loved good music and would listen to all genres. She put great music into my life and she was my hero. She was my biggest fan.”

The song, aptly named, is a reward to all mothers in the world and a tribute to each one of them. As you listen and watch the official music video, the singer dares you to keep your eyes dry.

Neil introduced himself to the world with his first original in May– ‘Together as One’ that showcased his talent and delivered an empowering lyrical track.
