Shashank Arora talks about his first electronic single

MUMBAI: Actor-singer Shashank Arora released his first electronic number “Kya (Iss Gaane Ka Naam Hai)”.

stating “Sheer need to experiment, grow, learn, fail and never ever be bored”.

“Kya (Iss Gaane Ka Naam Hai)” represents to the singer the vagueness of the time we live in. The name is also an ode to the earlier days of simple electronica. A reminder of the simpler Indian electronica which he never had as a child, so he had to make it.

The album cover was done by his sister Chandni Arora who's a painter in Delhi.

"I usually make a lot of acoustical sounds with the ukulele or flute and vocals (like ''Bikhre'') but off late I feel like learning and creating some electronica and hip-hop with a classical twist," added the artiste.

Balancing his life as an actor and singer, Shashank shared, “It can be chaotic but very satisfying. A bit like being a parent is the best way I can describe it. A lot of fun and a lot of responsibility. But I’m not a parent so I have no idea what that actually feels like.  One must have sheer need to experiment, grow, learn, fail and never ever be bored”.

Shashank Arora is popularly known for his roles in “Titli” (2014), “Brahman Naman” (2016), and “Made in Heaven” (2019). He is the only Indian actor to have two films compete at Cannes, Sundance, Berlin, Toronto and Locarno film festival.

Further, he is thrilled about “Gangster Newton” and believes it will surely redefine content much like Titli or Brahman Naman. “It’s not just a new concept, but a new type of storytelling which doesn’t exist in India yet. Science meets the mafia in the coolest collision ever. Something we’ve been developing for years”, said Shashank who had sung “Bikhre” for the 2019 film "Moothon".

The singer can’t say much about Dibakar Banerjee's film unfortunately, but has a lot of exciting things ahead. Stay Tuned!
