Rachita Arora experiments with 'quirky' compositions for Para Para, Judgementall Hai Kya title track

MUMBAI: Music composer Rachita Arora has tried some quirky compositions with her latest Bollywood project Judgementall Hai Kya, starring Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao. The two songs, Para Para, and the film’s title track, has garnered a positive response from the audience.

Exclaiming about the same, Rachita says, “I am very happy with the response, people are liking as well as appreciating my songs. So, it is overwhelming for me.”

On being asked, how did this project land into her kitty, the singer reveals, “Kanika, who is the writer of the film, called me and asked me to meet the director of the film, Prakash sir. He had heard my earlier compositions and when I composed Para Para and the title track of Judgementall Hai Kya, he liked it.”

On her experience of working on the song, she exclaims, “My experience of working on these two songs was something out of the box. Judgementall Hai Kya itself has a lot of things, which is very creative to work on. It is all about Kangana’s mad world.”

“The makers wanted Para Para song to be quirky because there was a lot of madness and laughter shown. I also did two VJM pieces. The title track has more haunting elements. It starts with the voice of kids and bells underneath. It is followed by a rap belonging to the trans-genre, accompanied with the brass section and my voice. The entire spectrum of the song is about Kangana’s mind, what’s going inside the illusionary world that she has created and the ways she is dealing with it. It was really fun to create these two songs and as a musician, I loved working on it,” she further shares.

Other composers like Tanishk Bagchi, Arjuna Harjai, and Daniel B. George have also composed for the film, which released recently.

On being asked if it was challenging to stand out amid the crowd of some popular composers, Arora answers, “I wasn’t aware that Tanishk, Arjuna and Daniel are also working on the project until the album was out. I was working on whatever brief my director was giving me and gave my best to that particular emotion. It wasn’t challenging at all.”

Lastly, on her upcoming projects, she reveals, “I cannot name my upcoming projects, but I can talk about Kanpuriya, which is directed by Ashish. There are some other projects and web-series, I am composing for. I am also working on Anurag sir’s one film.”
