MUMBAI: In a coup of sorts, India’s widely recognised electronic dance music artiste, music producer and songwriter Anish Sood will be featuring in the feel good, club anthem titled, Be Nice that will be part of Black Eyed Peas' upcoming album.

Multi-platinum group Black Eyed Peas debuted the anthemic new single feat. Snoop Dogg on Tuesday night on brand new song writing competition series that provides talented songwriters with a one-of-a-kind opportunity to collaborate with visionary music producers, who are responsible for today’s biggest hits, Songland.  With Adam Levine and Ryan Tedder as executive producers of the show, and a host of other judges like Jonas Brothers, Meghan Trainor, Charlie Puth and will.i.am, the series airs on NBC.

In the summer of 2018, Sood alongwith his songwriter friends Adam Friedman and Tienus co-scripted the song which went on to become the winning song of the second episode of Songland.

Black Eyed Peas’ will.i.am was the celebrity guest judge on Tuesday night’s episode of Songland, alongside the show’s judges Ester Dean, Ryan Tedder, and Shane McAnally. The four songwriters who competed on Tuesday night for their songs to be selected as Black Eyed Peas’ new single were Adam Friedman, John Lohan, Charisma Dixon, and Ray Goren, and will.i.am eventually selected Friedman’s Be Nice as the winner. As well as picking Friedman’s Be Nice, will.i.am also picked two other songs - John Lohan’s Boxes and Charisma Dixon’s Invincible, to be featured in Black Eyed Peas’ upcoming album

Anish Sood states, “It's been a pretty incredible experience to be a part of this song. When Adam and I wrote the idea we had absolutely no idea that we would end up here. We're extremely grateful to Will I Am and the entire Songland crew for this opportunity."

One of the finest dance music talents in the country, Anish Sood who became the first Indian to win in the Best Electronica/Dance single category at Independent Music Awards (IMA), has played an integral part in the growth of India’s electronic music scene for almost a decade!
