Lata Mangeshkar continues to express respect for Indian Army

MUMBAI: After the Indo-Sino war in 1962, the entire nation mourned for the loss of our jawans. A feeling that still brings goosebumps to every patriot was well expressed by the nightingale of India, Lata Mangeshkar with the song Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon, composed by C. Ramchandran and penned by Pradeep. The song, lyrics and her singing is said to have brought tears to our then Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, veteran actor Dilip Kumar among many others. Cut to 2019, over half a century later, Lata Mangeshkar yet again moved the current Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi with reciting a poem inspired by his speech.

On Saturday, the Bharat Ratna recipient, tweeted a song “Saugandh Mujhe Is Mitti Ki” and dedicated it to the soldiers martyred in the dastardly attacks of Pulwama. She also mentioned that she was inspired by the speech and poem recited by the Honorable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi. The song video credits Mayuresh Pai as the music composer.

The Prime minister replied to the tweet saying that he is eternally grateful for the love and affection shown by the singing legend.

Previous to this, Lata Mangehskar had also congratulated Narendra Modi and the scientists involved in the historic ‘Mission Shakti’. The singer has always been vocal about her patriotism and love for the country. The Mangeshkar family is considered to be the most artistic family of India and its  not a secret that Lata Mangehskar is considered to be the treasure of our nation.
