My performance in Bangalore was one of my best shows, I did for the Indian crowd: Jay Sean

MUMBAI:  English singer-songwriter Jay Sean who has debuted with popular singles Down, Do You Remember, Ride It and others in UK’s Asian Underground music scene, was recently in India for his concert, scheduled in Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru. The popular singer spoke about his performance, upcoming projects and more in an exclusive interview.

On being asked, what vibe he got and his experience of performing for the Indian crowd, he shared, “When I performed in Bangalore, there were 10-15k people, it was fully packed. It is one of the best shows I have ever done for the Indian crowd. The energy of the crowd was superb, it was just madness. I had a great time and the vibe was great too.”

On being quizzed on the preparations that go on behind his mind before the performance, he exclaimed, “Honestly, I have fun in my green room with my friends before my performance. We have a good laugh because if we can’t be in a happy mood, before I go on stage, then no one is going to have fun. I never over think anything. We have a laugh, mess around and then we go up there and kill it. We make sure that our vibe is great, I don’t get nervous. We practice some things, we are going to do.”

Further talking about his upcoming projects, Sean revealed that he has a song With You coming up. Sean revealed, “It features big popular voices like Gucci Mane and Asian Doll. Gucci Man is a legend; the respect for him I have is huge. With You is a party club song, a pretty fun record. I have been fortunate working with big eyes and my wish list like Drake, Beyonce, Rihanna these are eyes. I have worked so many incredible artists before.”

Jay Sean’s next performance would be happening in Dubai. On this, he said, “There would be 120k, so that is going to be massive again.”

I have a number of songs coming out. Here in India, I am signing a separate deal in India, which I have done specifically for this market. Overall I know it is going to crossover too. The song would comprise many genres in one records seamlessly it doesn’t sound like too much going on. Here in India, I am signing a separate deal. It is so experimental and fun,” he concluded.
