Bob Marley's granddaughter Donisha Prendergast says Reggae music in India is rising!

MUMBAI: Donisha Prendergast, Bob Marley’s granddaughter had visited India a while back. While she had spent some time with the kids, we at Radioandmusic got an opportunity to catch up with her as she gave some interesting inputs.

Speaking about her experience, she said, “India did treat me well. The experience was dynamic, young people are full of energy and ready to be challenged. They were showing me their beatboxing skills and they have enough experience. At one time I was also doing some dancing with them.”

Furthermore, she also spoke about Reggae music in India. She mentioned, “Reggae music in India is rising and it is taking different forms and is manifesting as it needs to. What is going on right now is also an evolution. Here people are expressing through hip hop. There are a lot of reggae musicians in India. Reggae music has not been popular in its truest sense. It is popular by virtual movement but is not popular through radio waves. We need to create more platforms for reggae music and we need to expand it.”

Lastly, she ended speaking about her upcoming projects. She said, “I would be doing more into my ‘writing space’.
