MUMBAI: With 72nd Independence marking its presence, India has immersed in the emotion of patriotism. And our music industry people are no way behind. Famous musicians from the country have a thought on this day, which marked our freedom from British rule. Check out the article as these artists not only speak about India and Independence Day but also dedicate their favourite patriotic songs, to celebrate this auspicious day!

Amaal Mallik

Many people laid down their lives so that we could breathe today. It's a very protective and emotional feeling when it comes to India. Wherever you travel in the world, the moment you come to your homeland is a very settling feeling. I wish happy independence to everyone. Follow your dreams and contribute, in every little way possible, to make the future a better place to live in.

Anu Malik

For me Independence is not only about you and me having independence but who gave us one. It’s our armed forces, who fought for our freedom. I would dedicate my song, Paltan to all of them as well as to the Independence Day celebrations. We are a proud nation, who is ready to rule the world.

Shaan

Independence Day is the day we celebrate with a lot of fervour. My favourite song is Sabse Aage Hai Hindustani so that we can tell the world that Indians are ahead of everyone.

Jubin Nautiyal

India has a rich history, which should be talked about and celebrated. It’s a very different kind of love and protectiveness one feels towards its nation. The younger generations, today, is not as patriotic as people used to be back in those days. In today's time, movies and songs are, thus, the biggest mediums to educate the masses and can create a very powerful impact.

My favourite patriotic song is Ae Mere Watan Ke Logo, which I want to dedicate to this Independence Day. It is a very touching song and a lot of great people got together for making such a legendary song.

Akhil Sachdeva

'Independence Day’, the name itself talks about independence and is a very proud moment and day for us. It reminds me of the era, our nation went through, under British rule. We got independence after so much of struggle and sacrifices. It’s, thus, a constant reminder to every citizen, to value our independence and not to take it for granted. It’s high time we stop blaming each other, be it individuals or political parties and try to make our nation a better place to live, by being a better person, society.

When it comes to patriotic songs, there are so many songs, made on Independence Day, but there is no song like our national anthem.

Meghdeep Bose

For me, Independence Day is not just about celebrating the political freedom of our country, but also about celebrating the independence in our thoughts and to be able to express what lies in our hearts, freely. I will dedicate two songs for Independence Day. While one is my song, Tu Bhoola Jise from Airlift, the second one is Maa Tujhe Salaam by A R Rahman.

Jashan Singh

Today, in our country, if we are able to breathe freely, it’s because of freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev. They and the soldiers, who lost lives, while fighting for the nation, are the real heroes.

I would like to dedicate two of my songs for this Independence Day. One is my Allah Ve, my Coke Studio performance from 2015 and the song, Challa, from my Mahesh Bhatt movie, Dushman.
