I want to make my own space and give an identity to Sufi Rock music: Akhil Sachdeva

MUMBAI: Singer Akhil Sachdeva, who rose to fame with the song, Humsafar from the film, Badrinath Ki Dulhania is a hardcore Sufi Rock singer.

Being one of the pioneers of Sufi Rock music, the singer wants to be known by his genre, which according to him is a heartfelt singing.

On his genre, Akhil said, “With my songs, I want to make my own space and give an identity to Sufi Rock music. I want my songs to be heard for a long time like Humsafar is still a popular number. I, therefore, want to create melodies that will leave an imprint on the minds of people.”

“I’m compassionate about Sufi singing and always feel like sitting in a Dargah and sing Sufi even if I’m interacting with god,” Akhil added.

Akhil, who sings from the heart, further said, “I believe that simplicity lasts for long and thus I believe, my simple songs will sustain for a long period.”

Sufi live nights have become a trend in Delhi today and Akhil’s contribution in the same is great. We hope the singer is successful in making his Sufi Rock genre famous on the world map and stays loyal to his style of singing.

Meanwhile, Akhil has shot for his second single with T-series and it will be out in next two months.
