'Beautiful Love' singer Armaan Malik wants India to know the face behind the voice

MUMBAI: Singer Armaan Malik, who is basking in the success of his single, Ghar Se Nikalte Hi along with brother Amaal Malik, has another reason to rejoice. His Telugu song, Beautiful Love has crossed the one million mark. The singer, who has sung in different languages talks about singing for Telugu superstar Allu Arjun, ease of crooning in different languages and his dream to sing legendary singer, Kishore Kumar’s song, Humein Tumse Pyaar Kitna.

Speaking about his experience of singing for the Telugu superstar, Armaan said, “I have sung earlier in Telugu for Pawan Kalyan, Akhil Akkineni and others, but I have been a huge fan of Allu Arjun. I love his dance moves. He is one of the few South Indian actors I love. It’s brilliant that South Indian market has been open for me.”

The young singing star, who has collaborated with Bollywood’s music director duo Vishal-Shekhar, further added, “It is a good feeling to work with Vishal-Shekhar. It is my second collaboration with them. I had sung for them 10 years back for the song, Mere Buddy. My voice has totally changed today.”

Armaan, who has sung in different languages, shared the secret behind his ease of singing. He revealed, “Since the age of nine, I have been doing voice-overs, jingles and ads in different languages that has helped me. I got used to those words. Now, for me, it is easier to sing rather than speak a language. Also, my mom is Telugu, which helped me a bit.”

Armaan and Amaal’s latest single, Ghar Se Nikalte Hi was a hit. On being asked about any future collaboration with his brother on remakes of original Hindi songs, the 22-year-old exclaimed, “This was one of the last remakes to have happened. I’m glad it was well crafted by Kunal and Amaal. Definitely, there are a lot of songs we are planning. But, as of now, lot of originals are on my list. I don’t want to recreate but make a cover of the song for my fans. It is my dream to do a cover of Kishore Kumar’s song, Humein Tumse Pyaar Kitna.”

Lastly, sharing his experience of singing for the Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor starrer, 102 Not Out, Armaan signed off saying, “I have sung a fun song for Amitabh Bachchan sir and Rishi Kapoor sir’s, 102 Not Out. It is something very different from what you guys have heard from me. It was great working with Salim-Sulaiman for the song. I had collaborated with them in 2014, while I was working on my solo album, Krazy Konnection.”

Armaan, whose music career is growing by leaps and bounds, has always been vocal about his opinions besides interacting with fans. The singer wants India to know the face behind the voice.
