Raw rap is much-needed in the industry: Rosh

MUMBAI: 9X Media recently launched a few artistes and one amongst them is Rosh.  The singer has crooned the popular title track Goosebumps from Jackie Chan, movie Kung Fu Yoga. He recently went on to release Stuff.

On his collaboration with 9X Media, he says, “When I learnt about 9X Media signing raw talent, I sent them a scratch. It got me selected and we started working on it together."

He further adds, “I have been listening to music from a very early age mainly to Punjabi and Bollywood music. I used to listen to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan a lot. Now, I listen to Drake and Wiz Khalifa, as I get my motivation from them. From a composition point of view, I have always admired Nusratji.”

The singer understands the industry and to keep up his game he tried his hands at something new. “Ideally I am from Haryana and I wanted to get that Haryanvi rap out in a unique style. Creating something like this was a  challenge and I accept it from within. This is what led to my debut song Chillam.”

On his recent track Stuff, he says, “The girl’s composition is shown in a charismatic light and then slowly I take over the rap. We took a day to shoot this song in Mumbai. The track has turned out to be good and I have always thought of blending a good composition with a raw rap as it’s much-needed in the Industry.”
