MUMBAI: Our Women’s hockey team deserves much appreciation as they have won the ‘Asia Cup 2017’ title. While many people have congratulated them on social media here we have Sukhwinder Singh who personally honoured and felicitated the players of the Indian Women’s Hockey team. He presented a token of his appreciation to each of the 18 players. 

Being a huge sports enthusiast and a sportsman himself, he said, “Their achievement at the Asia cup is really commendable. I have a lot of respect for sports and this is just a small token of my love for these girls who have made us all so proud. Their win must be celebrated by one and all.” 

India’s Women’s Hockey Team captain Rani Rampa said, “It is a really kind gesture by Sukhi ji to have called us out here and showered so much love and respect for us. It is very heartwarming and overwhelming to receive so much love and support from everybody not just towards us, but also the sport at large. This is such a motivation to perform better and take Indian Women’s Hockey to higher heights.”
