Indian National Anthem video in sign language features Amitabh Bachchan

NEW DELHI: In a unique venture, the non-governmental We Care Film Festival on disability issues has brought out a video of the Indian National Anthem in sign language led by megastar Amitabh Bachchan.

Conceptualised by Festival founder director Satish Kapoor and directed by the renowned Govind Nihalani with music by the late Aadesh Shrivastava, the recording was done by Bachchan and disability children jointly singing the Anthem in sign language with the majestic Red Fort as the backdrop. We Care Film Festival produced the film under the aegis of NGO Brotherhood.

The video was launched recently in the capital in the presence of Dr Mahendra Nath Pandey, Minister of State in the Ministry of Human Resource Development.

Pandey stressed the need to create an environment for the disabled people where the disabled are able to earn a livelihood and live an independent life like any other citizen and get integrated into every segment of national life.

He appreciated the efforts of the organizers and wished them success in future endeavours.

Those present on the occasion included Sudesh Verma who is National Spokesperson of BJP and Patron of We Care Film Festival and Derek Segaar who is Director of the United Nations Information Centre for India and Bhutan
