Red Bull Tour Bus has a spectacular lineup for 4th anniversary gig

MUMBAI: India's stage on wheels - the Red Bull Tour Bus which was started in the year 2013 has taken music to every corner of the country. It has been to colleges in Chandigarh, Indore, Patiala, Shillong, Jaipur, Guwahati, Bhubaneshwar, Hyderabad, Surat, Kharagpur, Nasik and Ahmedabad. This mobile gig has hosted some of the most incredible artists in the country including The Raghu Dixit Project, Pentagram, Bhayanak Maut, Papon and Nucleya. It returns to Mumbai each year in October to celebrate its anniversary.

This year’s anniversary will see a vibrant set of artistes in its lineup. The fourth edition of will be held at the PJ Hindu Gymkhana on 14 October. Singer and composer Amit Trivedi will headline the gig alongside upcoming metal band Skyharbor, ambient electronic music artiste Komorebi and folk rock band When Chai Met Toast.

The Line-Up

Amit Trivedi: Currently among the most sought-after composers in Bollywood, Amit Trivedi made his debut as a film composer in 2008, and shot to fame a year later with his work on the film Dev D.  A producer, composer, singer and songwriter, he has carved a niche for himself in the industry with his work since. Trivedi is also known for his spectacular stage presence and live shows, where he collaborates with a range of musicians, making for a fantastic viewing and listening experience each time.     

Skyharbor: From being a fledgling studio project out of the late 2000s global prog-metal surge, Skyharbor has rapidly established itself as one of the leading progressive bands from the Indian subcontinent. In the past few years, the band has travelled the world, playing at festivals such as Euroblast Festival in Germany, Download Festival in the UK and Dissonance Festival in Italy, among others. In April this year, Skyharbor supported Deftones on the European leg of their Gore album launch tour.     

Prateek Kuhad: With the release of his debut album, In Tokens & Charms, in January 2015, singer-songwriter Prateek Kuhad firmly established himself as one of the frontrunners in the Indian independent music scene. He has since played at music festivals across the country, as well as at Midem, France, earlier this year, and SXSW, Canadian Music Week, BIGSOUND, Music Matters, and the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix in 2016.

Komorebi: An independent music project of Tarana Marwah, Komorebi is the ambient dream of the unconscious mind taking shape through rigorous and eccentric beats, layered with harmonic melodies and synth work that allows the listener to traverse new sounds and sonic worlds.     

When Chai Met Toast: A four-piece folk-rock band, When Chai Met Toast describe its music as heart-warming, happy and smile-worthy. Taking inspiration from the lighter side of life, the band has quickly gained a fan following for its brand of infectious happy music, which transcends age, genre and language.
