Bhushan Kumar confirms 'Mixtape Season 2'

MUMBAI: Mixtape, a property by T-Series came to an end with its last episode on 12 August. The series of 17 episodes gave the audience a new version of the existing Bollywood songs and it was a success. Thus, the music label has plans of coming up with another season of Mixtape.

On the basis of lessons learned from Season 1, the new season will bring more exciting episodes that will have a mix of both Bollywood and YouTube musical sensations.

“The first season of Mixtape gave us an amazing response. The audience loved Mixtape not because we made a remix of the songs but because we clubbed two iconic Bollywood songs based on the same sur and taal and released them as one,” said T-Series managing director Bhushan Kumar.

The second season will have 12 episodes, unlike its previous season that had 17 episodes and 26 singers. According to Kumar there will also be different versions of Mixtape. “The property will also be available in different languages, but we have yet to work on them.”

Music composer of Mixtape S1Abhijit Vaghani further stated, “We might feature some YouTubers who have made it big in the industry like we featured Shirley (Setia). We might also have Arijit (Singh) this time, as last time he was busy doing his own stuff, may be this time he will be free.”

The next season is slated to go on-air sometime in December, this year.
