Big FM's RJ Dilipp makes Marathi film debut with 'Garb'
MUMBAI: RJs have been ruling the entertainment scene for a while now. Be it live venues, TV or 70mm, they have managed to explore it all. Big FM's RJ Dilipp is set on a similar journey. The RJ who started as a medical practitioner and then went on to become an RJ is now entering the acting scene in a similar manner.
“Acting was never on my plate and neither was radio. These things just came up to me. I believe, in life, anything can come up, at any time and I am always ready for it. Shooting for the film was a fulfilling experience,” said RJ Dilipp is best known for his morning show ‘Masaala Chha’.
The RJ’s first Marathi film ‘Garb’ released today. Dilipp plays a negative character in the film and he believes that this role will bring wonderful experiences in his life. “I was offered a grey role but I did not hesitate. My inspiration has been the King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan who debuted with ‘Baazigar’. SRK played a negative role in the film. My role was an interesting one and I felt I could justify it, so I took it up,” stated Dilipp.
Talking about how he bagged the film the RJ said, “I keep talking about Marathi films on my show. For this, I have to be in contact with the film fraternity. During one such interacting I bagged a film role, lucky me.”
Acting does bring the spotlight on one something that is difficult to turn away from, but Dilipp is not planning to step away from his first love RJing. “Radio is in my system. So, I will never leave RJing. Though, I would like to explore more in the acting field.”
Well, we wish RJ Dilipp all the very best for his debut film and hope to see him in many more movies in future.
