A week of Indie art in Delhi

MUMBAI: All Indie artistic expressions rarely get a chance to come together under one roof but the Indie Art Week (IAW) seeks to change that. In its debut edition IAW will showcase a host of art forms - ranging from an eclectic mix of music, films, theatre, photography, visual arts and comedy among others - across 6 venues from 12 to 19 March 2017.

The festival will feature over 100 artists over a week in 7 different showcases namely, IAW Viewing Room (Film Screenings), Optik Lounge (Visuals Gallery), Grey Area (Live Stage), Spotlight(Theatre & Comedy), Drone Den (Sonic Art) and Bargain X (Installations, exhibition and makers market), apart from a launch event at Khoj Arts Gallery and 2 massive after parties for the participants and attendees.

IAW is the initiative of Rohan Kulshreshtha, otherwise known for his duties on guitar for the popular band Peter Cat Recording Co. “IAW is a multidisciplinary conglomeration of gifted individuals. Our features and showcases will take you through a whirlwind of independent works and we aim to be a destination for discovery, as far as multiple Indie art forms are concerned. We also aim to promote collaborative presentations, through the festival which is spread over a week across some intriguing spaces in New Delhi and this would possibly be the largest multidisciplinary showcase of original works by indie artists,” says Festival Curator, Kulshreshtra, of RonDog Entertainment.
