The Stage 2 multicity tour ends today

MUMBAI: After the reverberating success of 'The Stage 2' second season, India’s only English singing talent hunt, kicked off its multi-city tour in Delhi on 22 February 2017. The four-city tour saw 'The Stage 2' winner Sharvi Yadav, along with the three finalists Arunaja, Natasha Sehgal and Raghav Meattle perform live for their fans at Hard Rock Cafés in Delhi, Bengaluru and Pune. Today on 2 March 2017, the multicity tour will bring to a close at Hard Rock Café, Worli, Mumbai along with performances by Sharvi, along with Arunaja, Natasha, Raghav and also, Abhishek who was not available during the last three shows.

Indeed, it is a pioneering step towards giving budding English singing artistes in India a platform to exhibit their talent before Indian television audience that has now reached a completely new horizon with its live tour.

Talking about it, Sharvi stated, “I guess after ‘The Stage 2’, a lot of people are picking up English music and it has motivated people a lot. I got a crazy response in Pune and Bengaluru, as I am from Delhi, people know me there and a lot of people turned up including my friends and teachers without even asking. It was mostly young generation in Pune and in Bengaluru people are music lovers and they think that India needs pop singers. They talked with us post the gig and most importantly, I was being recognised there, that was touching.”

“Mumbai is the hub for the music industry and I am looking forward to this as a platform to show my talent,” added she.

Another finalist Abhishek Gurung Lemo who will be seen performing ‘When I Was Your Man’ by Bruno Mars and ‘Stairway to Heaven’ by the English rock band Led Zeppelin today, stated, “I skipped Bengaluru and Pune as I was touring with my band GingerFeet. As this is the first time I am performing at HRC Worli, I am really excited for this.”

Talking about it, two other finalists from ‘The Stage 2’ Natasha Sehgal and Arunaja both stated that Bengaluru was amazing and also apart from this multicity tour, both of them are gigging and performing all over India. “I am also performing at HRC Worli on 9 March for Women’s Day along with Kanchan Daniel, Sarosh Nanavaty, Meghana Bhogle and Pratika Evangeline Prabhune,” added Arunaja.

On the other hand, a devotee of Amy Winehouse, Natasha too is excited about the gig.

Raghav, who is also performing today at HRC Worli, said, “This is the first time that I am performing at HRC, I am very thrilled about this gig. I will be performing a bunch of songs including ‘Rude’ by Magic, ‘Love Yourself’ by Justin Bieber with Natasha and more.”
