'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' crosses one 'Billion' music streams

MUMBAI: The Bollywood music industry is growing rapidly. The songs have made their ways from vinyl to cassettes and from CDs to streaming platforms. Today making it big on streaming platforms holds more importance with physical music sale being out of the picture. At such a time ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ album has achieved a celebratory record of one billion streams.

The albums music partner Sony Music announced that it has crossed one billion music streams that make it the most heard album in the Indian music industry.

The music industry is equally in love with the music album. Radioandmusic.com asked music composer Pritam, singer-actor Aayushmann Khurrana and singer Neha Kakkar to name a favorite song/album of 2016, and the instant reply that we received was ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and ‘Channa Mereya’. This proves that ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ album has turned out be a huge success.

From the title track to ‘Bulleya’, ‘Channa Mereya’ and ‘The Breakup Song’, the music has touched everyone’s heart and soul. Music composer Pritam and lyricist Amitabh Bhattacharya have created magic in the music album and the achieved numbers have created history.

The songs of ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ have been grabbing awards at every award function this year. So far, they have received - Filmfare/ Stardust/ Screen Awards for Best lyricist - Amitabh Bhattacharya, Filmfare/ Screen/ Stardust Awards for Best Music Director - Pritam, Stardust Awards for Best Music Album – Sony Music India.
