Ram Sampath recreates 'Laila O Laila' for 'Raees'

MUMBAI: Recreation of old songs has been one of biggest musical highlights of Bollywood in 2016 and it looks like it will continue in 2017 with 'Raees'. This Shah Rukh Khan, Mahira Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer will have the recreated version of 'Laila O Laila'.

The music composer of the film, Ram Sampath has recreated Kalyanji Anandji's original composition from the 1980 film ‘Qurbani’ that featured Zeenat Aman. 'Qurbani' was directed by Feroz Khan. The song was nominated for the Filmfare award that year in the Best Female Playback Singer category. The original song was sung by Kanchan and Amit Kumar.

The audience got a glimpse of the recreated version featuring Sunny Leone during the trailer launch of 'Raees' today. The singer of the recreated version has not been unveiled yet.

Shah Rukh, who was present at the trailer launch, added that the film also includes several hit tracks from the 80s and 90s in the background. It also features several Gujarati film tracks in the scenes, since 'Raees' is set against a Gujarat backdrop.
