MUMBAI : A multi-talented TV artist and a music composer cum singer,  Manasi Parekh Gohil is collaborating with her old friend Namit Das for a new music video 'Tum Bhi Na' which releases on 18 November.

Sharing the idea behind the video, Manasi said, "Namit and Anurag (Shanker) had organised a song-writing workshop at Prithvi theatre, Juhu and where I came across certain beautiful songs. That is when I told Namit that we should compose a video and we successfully did it."

Manasi has chosen to release the video digitally across 800 channels worldwide. Staring Sumeet Vyas in the video, Manasi  Parekh, Namit Das and Anurag Shanker have composed the song together. An excited Manasi, who is currently in her last trimester, shot the video in a day when she was five months pregnant at Kitab Khana, Colaba.

Unable to sit still yet, Manasi says she wishes to work till the last day and wants her baby to join in the excitement. Talking about the concept of the video - love-irony-desire - Manasi says it is also based on the journey of a woman. She describes the EP  as it is divided into three songs, 'Tum Bhi Na' , 'Mahek' and 'Kesaria'. The first song 'Tum Bhi Na' shows a woman in love with  a man but is taken for granted,the next song  'Mahek' shows a woman  being independent, free and  exploring the world without  stress. The third song shows the woman leaving her past and trying to move forward, yet getting shackled by the hesitation native to a common Indian woman.

Trained in classical music since she was four, Manasi also gave background vocals for 'Devdas', she then got busy with TV.

“ If I have to choose between television and singing , I would say both. I want people to also know me as a singer.”
