Anirudh Ravichander brings an Indian twist to 'Cold Water'

MUMBAI: Diwali couldn’t be better as music producer Anirudh Ravichander released the glorified electro fusion mix of Major Lazer, Justin Bieber, and MØ’s smashing hit ‘Cold Water’ on 28 October 2016 on Sony Music.

The song which has various Indian influences added to it now, features an array of Indian instruments such as percussions, Carnatic violin and Nadaswaram. As the innovative track is dominating charts in India and throughout the world; fans around the world will love this edition even more.

Says an excited Anirudh, “I didn’t want to make it another dance remix, so I tried an emotional Indian version for the song during Diwali, which is the most celebrated festival all over India and that is all about uniting Indians.”

The two began working together six months ago when Diplo was in India which in turn led to a fun jamming session in LA in September 2016. Anirudh adds, “It has been my life’s dream to work with the best international artists. Working with (the likes of) Diplo is so inspiring. He is one of the most chilled musicians I have met and I’ve learnt a lot from him, we also had a great time jamming together in Los Angeles. In fact, this electro fusion edition of ‘Cold Water’ is a pre cursor to some original music we have worked on together.”

Anirudh is exceptionally dedicated to explore new borders with his sound and he has recently announced his association with Sony Music for his independent music.

President India and Middle East of Sony Music, Shridhar Subramaniam said, “In the endeavour of making Anirudh a global brand, this is a first of many initiatives. ‘Cold Water’ has been No. 1 and Anirudh’s innovative interpretation of the song will help Major Lazer and Justin Bieber crossover to new audiences.”
