MUMBAI: Fifteen years have passed by since one of the most iconic Bollywood movie ever released on the screens. The slick and witty movie with its vibrant characters and a refreshing plot quickly won over the critics and the masses, and has ever been among the favourites for every millennial.

Adding to the obvious factors that made Dil Chahta Hai such a big deal was its soundtrack.

An Ahmedabad-based act ‘Funk Samachar’ today released its cover of the title 'Dil Chahta Hai' on YouTube. True to its genre, the groovy funk band incorporated few of its own elements to the original track without losing its mix of young and spirited essence. With a keyboardist (Nayan Kapadiya), a guitarist (Ronak Pandit), a bass guitarist (Mayank Kapadiya) and a drummer (Divyang Arora), the vocalist Protyoy might not have recreated the Shankar Mahadevan-esque vibe to the whole vocal arrangement, but that’s the whole point of renditions.
