New Music Vidoes: Aswekeepsearching, Nicolette Gore, Spunqx

MUMBAI: October has been real kind to those craving for music videos. Singer-songwriter Ankur Tewari welcomed the visual admirers to the month with the release of his music video for 'Aa Jao' , from the recently launched album ‘Side A/Side B’. On the very exact day, Kolkata pop duo ‘Parekh & Singh’ unleashed the video for 'I Love You Baby I Love You Doll’ that drew comparisons with Wes Anderson’s works, and soon went viral for all the right reasons. A fortnight later, Orissa’s heavy metal band ‘Against Evil’ put up its first music video (a rarity for the genre from the country) for 'Stand Up and Fight!' that soon ended with deserved acknowledgment from metal musicians across the country.

Three more acts continued with the growing trend to the second half of the month, and one after another, released music videos that not only help boost the outreach of the singles, but unlike several mainstream videos, justified the essence of the compositions.

Aswekeepsearching

The post-rock act hailing from Ahmedabad extended its music video contributions with the release of ‘At Long Last’. In a black-and-white format, often seen in songs belonging to the genre’, it becomes the band’s second music video, first after 2013-release ‘Tattva’.

Nicolette Gore

Nicolette Gore, singer-songwriter from Ahmedabad, features In the music video for the track ‘Plea to Gaiya’ from the EP titled ‘Gaiya’. The 2002 riots in Godhra and surrounding regions in Gujarat had an effect on Gore beyond words, and the artist finally released the music (and the video) to her thoughts, penned in 2006. Gore had initially planned to incorporate more graphic visuals in the form of photographs for her video, but toned it down later.

Spunqx

The newest act in town wasted no time to join the bandwagon, and released a quirky and fun video, similar to its sound for the single ‘Drink Up’. Released on 27 October, the video was shot across various parts of Mumbai, and features the members of the band.
