I am not going to reply or react, I am not immature: Abhijit Vaghani on Arijit's Facebook rant

MUMBAI: Singer Arijit Singh's public accusation that music producer Abhijit Vaghani 'retuned his voice' drastically is making headlines currently. Arijit had sung for Abhijit Vaghani for the upcoming film 'Wajah Tum Ho' titled 'Dil Ke Paas'.

Today, 27 October 2016, Arijit Singh shared a post on Facebook stating that Vaghani has re-tuned his voice to such extent that he did not even recognise his own voice!

While we couldn’t get through to Arijit Singh, we contacted Abhijit Vaghani for the same. The producer smiled and said, “The thing is every music composer should have that creative legacy. I have produced background score for 50 films and I have never been accused of anything like this before. Arijit has been a friend for a long time and what I did was according to the mood of the track. As I am the music composer, I wanted his vocals in a particular manner which is suitable for the film as well. When you are contracted with any record label, there are many people involved, and you are supposed to work as a team. Why are you judging your own work? Let the audience be the judge! I did what I had to and no matter what; ego shouldn’t come in between professional or personal relationships."

Vaghani also shared that Arijit had sent him a message before lashing out on social media and that was not a ‘Straight Forward’ message similar to his Facebook post. In addition, he mentioned that renowned singers such as Shreya Ghoshal and Sunidhi Chauhan are very open to a composer’s outlook, and apparently Arijit lacks that temperament.

“It is very unfortunate and surprising that Arijit feels this way. I had a talk with Bhushan Ji as well regarding this as T-series is way powerful and he asked me to pay no heed to this. I am not going to reply or react, I am not immature,” added Vaghani.

‘Dil Ke Paas’ is an original song sung by Kishore Kumar for the film ‘Blackmail’. Music director of the film was Kalyanji Anandji, and the original song was penned by Rajendra Krishna.

Primarily a self-taught musician, Abhijit Vaghani made himself famous to the world of Bollywood with scores from movies like 'Sarbjit', 'Airlift', 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan', ‘Dishoom', 'Azhar', 'Ki & Ka' and more.

‘Dil Ke Paas’ the song released today, 27 October 2016.
