'The Stage' elimination makes way for Kunal Singh's first international tour

MUMBAI: 'The Stage' journey did not turn out to be a success for Kunal Singh with him getting eliminated on 23 October 2016. But, his journey with his band High Time is taking him places.

The vocalist has a five piece band that won the Mood Indigo fest in December 2015. The victory got them tickets to a Europe tour. Singh will be flying by the end of this month. "This is our first international gig tour. It will be a 10-day trip during which we will also release our first album," stated the singer.

Singh plans to go on an India tour after completion of his first world tour. "We want to perform in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and the North East to promote our album," said the vocalist.

Singh who holds a Bachelors degree in Economics had given himself six months post his graduation, to music. And luckily everything fell into place for him in these six months. "My band took off in six months and then 'The Stage' happened. The platform helped me get recognition and respect," confessed the singer.

He was also lucky to have been associated with one of the oldest music and theater societies in India 'Musoc'. "I graduated from Kirori Mal College, Delhi, which has the oldest music society. Amitabh Bachchan too studied in the same college."

Furthermore, Singh also has a Bachelors degree in Music and he is currently pursuing Masters in Music.

Though Singh is trained in Hindustani Classical music he sings in English. But, this does not mean that he is not looking forward to a career in Bollywood. "English singing is coming up, but Bollywood is the bread and butter industry. I plan to move to Mumbai to try my luck in Bollywood," revealed the artiste.

Singh is definately looking forward to a Bollywood music career, but he does not plan to let go off his band. "My band is my baby. And I have been lucky to have a personal bond with all the members. Making music is a very emotional process so, it's important to work with people you connect on a personal level. Moreover, I like getting sweaty and energetic "
