Delhi's grandest culture and music festival line-up announced

MUMBAI: For its fourth edition, Delhi's very own Contemporary Arts Week will commence on 15 October with a line-up that potentially celebrates the artistes across genres of entertainment through varied live performances. A week involving 15 different venues, 55 events covering 12 different genres, Contemporary Arts Week will feature at least 450 artistes.

With music performances on all seven days of the event, the Arts Week will begin with an incredibly unique collaboration act featuring Apeksha Dandekar, Akhil Sachdeva, Kutle Khan, Santa Singh, Shilpa Rao and Ujwal Nagar in collaboration with Pt. Ajay Prasanna, Abhay Sharma and Komorebi for a performance highlighting the day One for a contemporary folk and sufi celebration. The impressive multiple artist line-up provides the essence of what the festival stands for – the evolution of contemporary art across the streams.

Day One will be followed with a performance from one of the biggest folk artist of the country – Raghu Dixit, joined by his fellow bandmates from the Raghu Dixit Project. The music acts on the first two days of the event will be held at the Nehru Park.

On the third day, city-based acts Soul’D Out and Mellowghost will take over the stage at DLF Cyber Hub in Gurgaon, whereas an hour later three solo musician would enthrall the attendees at the Courtyard Unplugged.

Electro-pop duo Basanti aur Rahza will open the music activities on 19 October with a performance at the Bunta Bar, followed by performances from Ahmedabad-based outfit Aswekeepsearching and Mumbai-based Zokova at the Summer House. 20 October will be dedicated to more electronic music, and more or less, a mix of similar genres will be executed Cyber Hub, Bunta Bar and Courtyard Unplugged on the very next day.

The final day will end with Hari & Sukhmani Experience at Courtyard Unplugged, a Punjab-based folktronica duo.

The Contemporary Art Week, has not just grown in size and scale but also in terms of participation and reach boasting of over 450 artists, 15 different venues and 55 events covering 12 different genres. The unique and one-of-its-kinds festival incorporates art forms such as dance, music, theatre, puppetry, clowning, mime along with visual arts, short films, photography, slam poetry, short films, stand-up, mixed media and street art.
