Amit Tandon to sing the title track for his new TV series Dil Deke Dekho

MUMBAI: Amit Tandon, former Indian Idol finalist, is all set to entertain the audience once again with his voice, this time in a TV rom-com.

He is entering the television industry another time with a new TV show called ‘Dil Deke Dekho’. He has recorded the title track of the serial and not only that; he will be showing his acting prowess in the romantic-comedy TV serial.

Confirming the news, Amit said, "Yes, I have recorded the title song for the upcoming TV serial Dil Deke Dekho. The song is similar to the original with a contemporary touch. The original song was sung by the legendary Mohammed Rafi for the film 'Dil Deke Dekho' (1959). You can call it a reprised version and the new version is composed by Saurabh Kalsi."

Speaking passionately about it Amit added, “Well, the show happened like most others achieve. I auditioned for the position and everything worked out in due course. One of the main reasons why I said yes for this show is because one it’s very well written. Besides, it’s a rom-com which is light-hearted and enjoyable to act upon. I am very eager to begin this Dil Deke Dekho journey and I may be the first television actor to not only act in the show but also sing the title track for the show as well.”

Amit's co-stars are Kanwaljeet Singh, Navneet Nishan, Abhishek Bajaj, Preet Kaur, and Chaitanya Adib in ‘Dil Deke Dekho’.

“Love is an important emotion but not an important element. I do believe in love stories and the show is all about three love stories which will be prominent on the show,” added Amit.

Amit thinks that it’s a very interesting rom-com show and audiences will enjoy the show and he is majorly focusing on music and acting at the present. He recently released a mashup music video of John Legend’s ‘All of Me’ with ‘Maula Mere Maula’ from the movie 'Anwar' (Originally composed by Mithoon and sung by Roop Kumar Rathod).

“Live shows, music videos and of course the daily soaps keep me super busy. I haven’t collaborated with any record label as of now as I like the freedom to release my music whenever I wish for (smile), he signed off.

Produced by Manish Goswami, ‘Dil Deke Dekho’ will be aired from 18 October 2016, Monday toFriday. The timing of the show will be revealed soon.
