Asha Bhosle performs final concerts in the UK; audience bids standing ovation

MUMBAI: Bollywood music veteran Asha Bhosle has wrapped up her final concerts in Birmingham and London over the last weekend.

Earlier in May, during the cover-unveil launch of Society Magazine in Mumbai, the queen of melody announced that she will performing live for the last time in Britain.

The 83-year-old said during a press conference in London that while she would keep on singing till she can because she cannot survive without singing, she is unlikely to make the journey back to Britain.

The concert was a part of the farewell tour in the UK where the versatile singer locked two dates, 17 and 18 September for her live performance. On 17 September, the concert took place in Genting Arena, Birmingham and 18 September, SSE Arena, Wembley, London witnessed her swan song.

Bhosle, through her Twitter handle, shared her experiences of the tour.

She quoted, "Thank you Birmingham for the sold out concert & being such a fantastic audience. Will miss you."

As shared by the official page of 'Asha Bhosle Farewell Tour UK 2016', how the leading lady received a standing ovation from the audience of Birmingham.

The songstress of Bollywood was accompanied by her granddaughter Zanai Bhosle for the concert.

Here is a glimpse of Zanai performing on one of the hit numbers 'Tu Tu Hai Wahi' from the film 'Yeh Vaada Raha' (1982) given by Asha Bhosle.

Playback singer Javed Ali also set the stage for the audience.

Finally the maestro bowed down and thanked the lovely audience of the UK.
