Rahman reschedules UK tour due to technical issues

MUMBAI: Just when the excitement was at its peak for AR Rahman’s UK Intimate Tour, the news of it being rescheduled was announced. The music maestro broke the news through his social account. His post read that due to technical problems, the tour has been rescheduled for March 2017.

The Oscar-winning composer was about to perform in London, Birmingham, and for the first time ever in Leeds and Manchester. The A R Rahman UK Intimate Tour was to initially kick start at London’s SSE Arena Wembley on 22 September. Then head to Birmingham Barclaycard Arena on 24 September, Leeds on 29 September and Manchester on 30 September.

Sadly, Plans to bring AR Rahman’s hugely successful 2015 US Intimate Tour to UK this September, faced some serious and ultimately insurmountable technical challenges, leading to the postponement of the tour.

Rahman, well known for his love of the latest technology said, "Unfortunately, we realised that we were not going to be able to fix the technical glitches and prepare everything to the level I wish to present to my fans in time for the UK shows. With great sadness, I accepted the need to reschedule the dates to ensure fans are treated to what will be a truly spectacular night."

Some fantastic surprise appearances from fellow industry stalwarts were lined-up.Benny Dayal, Neeti Mohan, Jonita Gandhi and Tamil sensation Haricharan were there to join Rahman's UK tour.

The tour has been rescheduled for March 2017.

All tickets remain valid for the new dates in London, Manchester and Birmingham.

24 March Wembley SSE Arena
25 March Barclaycard Arena Birmingham
26 March Manchester Arena Manchester.

Leeds will not be rescheduled, however, all ticket holders will be offered seats in Manchester instead.

The ones unable to attend the concert on reschduled dates will be given full refund from their point of purchase.
