Winners of kids' singing competition get their albums

MUMBAI: Music albums by winners of the second season of i-genius Young Singing Stars have been launched.

Season 2 of the competition saw participation from over 100,000 children across three age groups - Primary (4-7 years), i-genius Junior (8-11 years) and i-genius Senior (12-15 years).

Tannishtha Puri, who won in the junior category has come up with ‘Saawre’, and Maithili Thakur, who had emerged winner in the senior category, has launched ‘Ya Rabba’.

Both albums are a compilation of all original compositions by music composer Shamir Tandon, who has worked with legends of Bollywood like Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle, read a statement.

The runners' up's album titled ‘Classics Revisited II’ has also been released. It includes renditions of various covers that have been crafted in a manner that showcases each child's vocal strengths. The music on this album has been remixed by DJ and music producer DJ AKS.

The competition was in collaboration with Max Life Insurance and Universal Music Group with brand ambassadors and jury members -- musician Salim Merchant and singer Shraddha Sharma.

"This season we saw an enormous pool of talent coming from all parts of the country. I feel such pride in announcing the albums of winners of this season. It has truly been a great journey during which tough choices had to be made but finally the top talent has emerged and shown us why we made the right choice through their singing," Merchant said.
