Coldplay update: Tickets ranging from Rs. 5000 to Rs. 35000 sold out in three hours

MUMBAI: The tickets for the categories costing Rs. 5000, Rs. 7500 and Rs. 15000 have been sold out in less than three hours. BookMyShow, the ticketing partner, for Global Citizen's debut Indian show, opened the online window at 12 noon, and thousands flocked to the website.

Within an hour, the Rs. 5000 category was sold out, but it only took at least half an hour each for the Rs. 7500 and Rs. 15000 categories to sell out.

Similar to its global structure, Global Citizen India allows the fans to attend the event for free through the charity work instructed on its official website. However, a few per cent of tickets were priced
at Rs. 5000 (cheapest) that, as informed by BookMyShow earlier, would escalate to Rs. 15,000.

This is what the last update on the website suggested -

As it turns out, the next categories worth Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 35,000 have also been sold out. Earlier, Global Citizen and BookMyShow had informed the tickets would escalate only till Rs.15,000. However, the addition of Rs. 35,000 comes as a surprise to several visitors. The website suggests more categories will be added soon.

The overwhelming response surely has created a major buzz on social media, and while some celebrated the purchase of tickets, others showed disappointment towards the escalating prices.
