'MTV Bollyland Exclusives' releases first song; more to come

MUMBAI: The first single of LIVE Viacom18's latest property 'MTV Bollyland Exclusives' is finally out. And we must admit that MTV's mix of both Bollywood and EDM, BDM (Bollywood Dance Music) number 'Batti Gul' is indeed foot-tapping.

The track has been sung by well-known Bollywood singers Akriti Kakar and Benny Dayal. Kakar also happens to have composed the song.

The song has already started getting positive industry responses for the 'Tha Kar Ke' singer. "I am getting a lot of love from the independent music fraternity. A lot of singers like Siddharth Mahadevan and Sona Mohapatra have also shared the song on their social media pages," stated the singer who still feels the need to enhance her final product,"I am sure even after they made Taj Mahal they felt they could have made it better. So, I feel as a creator you always have that excitement and nervousness of doing better."

Interestingly, Kakar managed to compose the song just in an hour, however, the rest of the process took her a bit longer. Which included a three-day-long video shoot, that also has bits and pieces from their live event of the song. "We had the premier of the song in Delhi a month ago and we used a bit of that gig in the final video. The rest of it was shot in a studio," averred 'Iski Uski' singer.

The recording and shooting were a fun process for Dayal too who just couldn't stop tapping his feet. "I was literally jumping around while recording the song as it is so addictive. In fact, Aakriti asked me to stop tapping because that too would have got recorded. Shooting for the song too was a natural process for me," said 'Kaise Mujhe Tum' crooner.

Furthermore, Kakar revealed that she got the hook line of the song 'Batti Gul' while, she was back home with her husband Chirag Arora. "We were just cracking jokes when the term 'Batti Gul' came to my mind."
