Arijit Singh, Monali Thakur, Aaryan Tiwari sing for 'Naamkarann'

MUMBAI: Almost a decade back, there was an original soundtrack made for TV shows and the title song of many dailies was loved by the audience globally, but soon the wave vanished. Much to our surprise, the trend is back. Lately, many shows have released songs which have garnered the TV audience’s interest with their songs and we believe 'Naamkarann', Mahesh Bhatt’s new show on Star Plus, will shortly join the league.

We had earlier reported that the legends from the 90s - Kumar Sanu and Anuradha Paudwal have lent their voice for this upcoming Star Plus show and at the recent launch event of the show, renowned Bollywood director Mahesh Bhatt released the soulful soundtrack of his new daily soap.  Bhatt, the strong believer in music, was delighted to have associated with two generations of musicians – eminent singers from the 90s such as Anuradha Paudwal, Kumar Sanu, and Anu Malik; and the best singers of this era - Arijit Singh, Monali Thakur, and Aaryan.

The album has a total of seven songs. King of romance Arijit Singh has also contributed with his recreating of ‘Aaj Jaane Ki Zid Na Karo'. Bhatt, who is known to introduce new musical talent in many of his productions, introduces Aaryan Tiwari in 'Naamkarann'. The melodious singer has sung ‘Chal Meri Jaan’ and also directed Arijit Singh’s recreation.

The title track of the show is sung by the national award winner, Monali Thakur. Sharing her experience and thought, she said “The lyrics of the title song, 'Naamkarann', will connect with any woman instantly. The thought ‘Don’t label me, don’t name me’ in the song expresses the pursuit of every woman trying to find her own identity. 'Naamkarann' is going to compel people to rethink the social structures and norms with Avni’s identity quest.”

Talking about his musical inclination in all his works, Bhatt told us “Music is one, there is no then or now. It can only get rich, but revisiting the past. We have received a phenomenal response to Kumar Sanu and Anuradha Paudwal’s rendition in 'Naamkarann'. Collaborating the talent from both the generations, was a tough yet interesting. Kausar Munir is one of the brilliant writers and has penned wonderful tracks for the show. The title track ‘Naamkarann’ is one of the best songs I have heard in a long time. We have been very lucky to have icons like Anuradha Paudwal associated with us for 'Naamkarann'.”

The showman behind musical extravaganzas like 'Hum Hai Rahe Pyar Ke', 'Ashiqui', 'Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi',  Mahesh Bhatt’s is back to strike a chord with audience’s hearts with his blockbuster melodies.  'Naamkarann' will air from 12 September 2016 on STAR Plus.
