DEB to debut as actor, composer in Bollywood rom-com

MUMBAI: Singer/songwriter Bishwadeb Bhaumik, better known by his stage name Deb, is gearing up for his first Bollywood venture. Kolkata native DEB, who says that he came to Mumbai to become a ‘star’ is set for his acting-music directorial debut.

In a candid conversation with Radioandmusic.com, the ‘What the Fark’ singer said, “Apart from Being Indian Music, I am working with Zee Music. Acting is my second love. I will be debuting in a Bollywood film which is a romantic comedy.”

“I couldn’t play the guitar when I came to Mumbai and now I will be also composing about five tracks for the same film,” added the singer.

DEB recently released the music video for his new single ‘Rastafari’ with Gul Panag, based on the joy of travel.

He has earlier released singles like ‘What the Fark’, a Bengali single ‘Emon Manush’, and now after ‘Rastafari’, Bhaumik plans to release two more music videos by the end of this year. Know more about it.

In addition, the 'Rastafari' singer shared, “I am also working on a Bengali film. Directed by Parambrata Chattopadhyay, the film is a Bengali crossover film which will be released by the end of this year.
