MUMBAI: Singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan whose song 'Zaroori Tha' touched 100 million on Youtube last week has another reason to celebrate. The 'Jiya Dhadak Dhadak' singer who is currently on UK Tour was given lifetime achievement award by Oxford University for his musical contribution.

An elated Khan shared the same on his social page.

Khan who toured the museum there and also entered a 200-year-old music room, later performed with the singers of the institute.

The musician also performed with the fusion project students. The group recently released a mash-up of Eddie Vedder’s 'Hard Sun' and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s 'Allah Hoo'. The song was a tribute to Rahat’s uncle and internationally acclaimed singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
