This is the best time to come back: Amit Tandon

MUMBAI: Indian Idol finalist Amit Tandon is back in the news. However, this time not for his acting, but definitely for his singing.

While he makes his re-entry, this is what he had to share with Radioandmusic.com:

“I guess this is the best time to return to music as the independent music scene is booming. I have always loved the 90s music, loved the voice of Kumar Sanu, Udit Narayan and I wanted to put the old wine in a new bottle. The song 'Adaayein Bhi Hai' from the film 'Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin' is close to my heart and the new version will make you love the song all over again. I want to present old classic tracks in a new light for the young generation. These days people say cover songs, I strongly disagree to that. It’s been done off by heart, the concept, the additional lyrics and idea of the music video are completely mine and I would call it a re-creation.”

Amit Tandon’s journey in the glam world started with a reality show. He participated in India’s first singing talent hunt Indian Idol. Being one of the finalists, Amit also joined the gang in the Indian Idol album.

“I don’t belong to a musical family and I came all over from America to India to participate in the show. The journey has been quite amazing and I have worked with some wonderful people till date. Initially, it was difficult as when I came to India, I had to cope with a lot of cultural differences. I feel blessed that I got the chance to do what many people wish to do,” added Tandon.

“I will be performing live after a long time at Pro Kabaddi League 2016 in Patna on 9 July and I am very much excited about it,” said Amit. Amit will be continuing with cover songs and start working on his originals soon.
