Shaan partners Amaal Mallik for romantic single

MUMBAI: The honey-laced voice of Shaan, the music expertise of Amaal Mallik and the soulful lyrics by Rashmi Virag come together in  a melodic blend in the new romantic single by T-series - 'Tum Ho Toh Lagta Hai'.

Considered one of Bollywood's most romantic voices, Shaan has worked with the young composer for the first time. Starring Taapsee Pannu, Saqib Saleem and Shaan in a cameo, the music video is produced by Bhushan Kumar, directed by Aleya Sen. It was released on 14 June 2016.

"The moment Amaal played out the first line to me, it just blew my mind away and I told Bhushan that I wanted to sing this. I haven't heard a more sincere love song than this, in a long time. Amaal is taking over the whole world with his music skills and I am happy that I have sung for him," said Shaan.

Talking about it, Bhushan Kumar says, “I know Shaan since long and of course he is a great singer. Shaan has sung the song wonderfully. While watching the song I was checking the views and comments which are very positive for us. I am optimistic that the listeners will be in love with it. Everyone did a fabulous job.”

“Last week, we released the song ‘Dillagi’ by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan which got three million views in four days. I will be continuing with these kinds of music videos as the new generation can connect with these music videos and every newcomer should get a chance,” added the T-series proprietor.

While talking about the music video, Amaal said, “It was a group effort. I can’t compare this song with 'Tumhe Dillagi' by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. But everything that we worked on with Virag Ji and Bhushan Ji, it is only out of pure honesty, we didn’t think about views. If the song is melodious, lyrics is effortless and the video is expressive the video will rock and get a lot of views.”

Virag said that he has collaborated with Amaal from the time when he just started his career. “It’s easy to win an election or getting selected in IAS, but when it comes to presenting a song to Bhushan Ji, it is difficult to satisfy him. We put our heart in the songs,” he added.
