Nick Jonas calls for increased security at concerts

MUMBAI: In the wake of the tragic death of the late 'The Voice' star Christina Grimmie, singer Nick Jonas has spoken about the need for increased security at meet and greet sessions at concerts.

He said that increasing security at such events "should be looked at", reports people.com.

"I was talking to my manager about it the other day. Interestingly enough, in an interview a while ago, he mentioned that he thinks that security needs to be increased at venues. Just something that should be looked at. I think it's obviously very poignant," Jonas said in an interview with a radio station.

He also spoke about the issue on Australian talk show ‘The Morning Show’, and said that it is something that "needs to be addressed".

"I think it's just an issue we need to sort out as a country and get right. With music venues, I think there are some protocols that can be taken to make it safer, not only for the artists but for the fans," Jonas said.

"We all need live music, we need to be able to feel safe to go to a show and enjoy a concert. We can't let people win that are out there just to make people’s lives horrible," he added.

Grimmie was fatally shot while she was signing autographs and selling merchandise after her show in Orlando late last week. The shooter named Kevin James Loibl killed himself after committing the crime.
