I did what my director demanded: Ankit Tiwari on 'Badtameez'

MUMBAI: In less than a week from its release Ankit Tiwari’s song ‘Badtameez’ has become a rage. The song has already managed to get one million views on YouTube and the number is just increasing with every passing day. Looks like Ankit’s fans are completely enjoying the composer-singer in his new avatar.

The ‘Sun Raha Hai’ singer is seen as a rockstar with a heartbreak story in the music video. The plot of this music video seems familiar, but it was not that easy for director Sidhant Sachdev and his creative team, that literally scratched their heads to get the best story for the ‘Galliyan’ singer. They initially wanted a love story, but they zeroed on a heartbreak story for Ankit’s debut album.

The toughest part of this video making process according to the ‘Tu Hai Ki Nahi’ singer was acting. “I was not too sure if I would be able to act in the video, but Sidhant was convinced. I did attend a few acting workshops in between my other work schedules,” confessed the singer.

He further added that he was extremely nervous to act opposite the 'Jannat' star Sonal Chauhan. “It was difficult to match up to Sonal as she is a wonderful actor, but she supported me.”

The musician is also seen sharing some intimate moments with Sonal on-screen. When asked if he was comfortable enacting those scenes he averred, “I just had to listen to my director. When I am a music director my band and my artiste deliver exactly what I want. Similarly, I did what my director demanded.”

Similarities between Ranbir Kapoor starrer ‘Rockstar’ and ‘Badtameez’ are being drawn since, its release, commenting on it the ‘Agar Tu Hota’ singer said, “It’s a story of a singer, therefore, a few things like singing, stage and audience will be a part of the music video. You cannot call them similar because the stories of these people are different. We have tried doing something different with our music video.”

The video has been extensively shot in Mumbai and Goa. The scenes of the audience in the music video have been taken from his real life concerts.

The video that released under T-Series has been produced by Ankit’s brother Ankur Tiwari’s company BH Entertainment.
