Unique blend of poetry, dance and music enthralls Kuwait

New Delhi: In a unique blend of music, poetry and dance, artistes from India were joined by local artistes at a special "Shayer Aur Ghazal" held in Kuwait.

Padma Shree awardee and talented artiste Tom Alter, actress and poet Deepti Naval, veteran actor Raza Murad, renowned lyricist and poet Aalok Srivastava and senior writer and renowned poets Aeel Nomani and Mansoor Usmani presented some of their best poetry, some of it set to music.

In the programme organized by the Indian Cultural Society, Kuwait, Young Ghazal maestro Shishir Parkhie and team added colour by singing their melodious ghazals. Safa Khan also shared the stage with two soulful ghazals.

Known for regular hit shows, the ICS organized the unique concept of Poetry recitation and Ghazal singing by legends from Indian cinema and literature. Beside its social and welfare work done for a long period, team ICS is celebrating its tenth year by presenting a variety of programmes for the community.

The event started with a prayer song and the Indian National Anthem followed by fusion dance by Little Angels from Aartshala, choreographed by Rupini Krishna and Priya Laxmi Narayan.

The event was officially inaugurated by Indian Ambassador to Kuwait Sunil Jain Ambassador of India to Kuwait and Dr Gargi Jain along with Nepal. Ambassador Y B Hamal, and B V R Mohan Reddy who is (advisor to PM, Founder and Executive Chairman at Cyient India Limited, and is also on the Board of Governors at IIT Hyderabad). A souvenir was released by guest artistes and sponsors

The speakers appreciated ICS efforts to promote art and culture along with campaign for “Noble cause & welfare services” for the last ten years.
