Raftaar to release solo album 'Zero to Infinity'

MUMBAI: Rapper Raftaar has announced plans of releasing a solo album soon. Titled 'Zero to Infinity', the rapper expects the album to be out before the end of the year. The rapper has composed eight songs so far, and says the first single could be out in a month.

Raftaar, or Dilin Nair, began his musical journey as a member with Honey Singh-led ‘Mafia Mundeer’ around 2010. The Kerala-born composer ventured into Bollywood after splitting up with the Mafia Mundeer, thus creating an identity of his own. The rapper continued his love for rap through collaborations with Bhangra/Hip-Hop group RDB (Rhythm, Dhol and Bhangra), before releasing his debut solo album ‘WTF – Witness The Future’ in 2013.

For the next three years, Raftaar reworked on his identity and the originality in his music, while contributing to mainstream Bollywood music. The rapper shot to fame with ‘Swag Mera Desi’ and eventually won ‘Best Urban Song’ at the Britasia Music Awards in 2014.

In May, the rapper joined TVF and Kanan Gill for the promotional music video for ‘Vodafone U’. I have named the album ‘Zero to Infinity’ because it talks about my struggle. I started at zero and achieved what I did. Single after single, the whole album will be out before the end of the year.” For the latest project, Raftaar will not hold only the musical and lyrical responsibilities. The 27-year-old will produce and record the songs in his studio.

The rapper has been working on the videos for the singles off the album amidst his consistent tours across the country.
